The League of American Bicyclists Recognizes Horrocks as a Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Business

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

The League of American Bicyclists is the nation’s oldest bicycle advocacy organization, leading the movement to create a bicycle friendly America for everyone. The Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) designation is a national recognition for being a leader in wellness, sustainability, and corporate responsibility. BFBs exemplify five essential elements to being bike-friendly: engineering; education; encouragement; evaluation and planning; and equity and inclusion. The deserving businesses are recognized at the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels.

Horrocks celebrated our first Bike to Work Day in May 2021 and encourages employees to use active transportation when commuting to work. During National Bike Month, weekly tips were given on Yammer to help those who were less familiar with bike riding. We also held a virtual lunch-and-learn event where we taught staff about active transportation engineering and equity.

Horrocks is currently investing in hiring active transportation specialists and educating our engineers about active transportation.

We have joined the movement of over 1,400 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States in transforming the American workplace to be more supportive of our customers and employees who bike. We plan to expand our participation in BFB practices to continue to make places more accessible for bicyclists.
